The Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standards (VSME) framework is a new initiative designed to cater to non-listed SMEs within the European Union. The VSME offers a flexible avenue for SMEs to voluntarily elevate their sustainability reporting practices, enabling them to adopt sustainable business practices that resonate with their unique operational models. The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group plays a pivotal role in the initiative, introducing two sets of simplified standards aimed at meeting the reporting needs of both Listed and Non-Listed SMEs. The VSME framework is designed to enhance the sustainability reporting endeavours of these entities, ensuring they can meet the rising demand for sustainability data from larger corporations seamlessly. The VSME framework offers three modules for non-listed SMEs, allowing them to customize sustainability reporting. Greenomy Academy provides an e-course for professionals interested in ESG reporting and disclosures.
