Most startups have not been successful in igniting the semiconductor design industry. Only 14 of the approximately 60 proposals that these companies submitted to the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) in order to get subsidies under the design-linked incentive (DLI) scheme have been selected. Funding 100 companies is the goal the government has set for itself.
