The US military has confirmed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern warfare, employing machine learning algorithms to identify and target enemy facilities during airstrikes in Iraq and Syria. Led by Project Maven, the initiative integrates AI and machine learning across the Defense Department, primarily focusing on analyzing drone-captured imagery. Similarly, Israel utilized AI technology during the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, expanding its use for target selection. The Pentagon disclosed that over 85 US airstrikes on February 2 relied on AI-driven algorithms to locate rockets, missiles, drone storage facilities, and militia operations centers. This represents a significant advancement in military tactics, leveraging AI to enhance precision and effectiveness in targeting enemy assets. The United States is not alone in employing technology on the modern battlefield. Israel is also recognized as a prominent player using AI during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
