Royal Philips has inaugurated a new innovation campus in Bengaluru, India, with the capacity to accommodate 5,000 employees. The CEO, Roy Jakobs, emphasized the role of generative AI in addressing customer challenges, particularly in healthcare. The company, with over 9,000 employees in India, plans to leverage the Bengaluru facility to advance innovative health technologies. With a focus on speeding up access to care and contributing solutions globally, Philips sees AI as a crucial element in enhancing patient processing. The company, known for electronic components and consumer electronics, has additional facilities in Pune and Chennai, with plans for further expansion. Last year, Philips invested Rs 400 crore in its Pune healthcare innovation center, manufacturing radio frequency coils for MRI machines under the PLI scheme. The company also plans expansions in Pune.
