West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced several new policies during the Bengal Global Business Summit, including initiatives to double the state's exports, modernize logistics, and promote renewable energy manufacturing. She unveiled a policy to boost biofuels and a sub-sea cable landing station at Digha for improved internet connectivity. Banerjee shared that the state's economy is growing at 8.41%, reaching USD 212 billion this fiscal year. New industrial corridors, such as Dankuni-Kalyani and Tajpur port-Raghunathpur, will be established. The summit, attended by business leaders like Mukesh Ambani and Sanjeev Goenka, focuses on attracting investments and showcasing West Bengal's economic potential, with over 90 lakh MSME units employing 1.3 crore people. Banerjee emphasized the state's tranquility and good governance while accusing the opposition of tarnishing its image.
