Huawei is set to begin mass shipments of its new AI chip, the 910C, next month amid tightening US export restrictions on Nvidia chips in China. The 910C, which combines two 910B chips in a single package, reportedly matches the performance of Nvidia's H100. The chip aims to fill the void created by US bans on powerful processors like the H100, A100, and upcoming B200, providing Chinese AI startups and cloud computing firms with a domestic alternative. Some units have already reached customers, marking a significant step in reducing China's dependence on foreign chipmakers.
