Ericsson has established a federal group aimed at delivering 5G-driven digital transformation solutions to government agencies. Christopher Ling, formerly of Booz Allen Hamilton, will lead this initiative. Federal agencies see 5G as pivotal for adopting commercial technologies. Yossi Cohen, Ericsson North America's president, emphasizes the importance of secure 5G infrastructure. Ericsson is already engaged in Defense Department projects involving 5G prototypes. Ling's unit, renamed Ericsson Federal Technologies Group, will provide advisory services and collaborate with integrators to design secure networking solutions for federal agencies. Additionally, Ericsson is actively involved in 6G development, partnering with organizations like the National Science Foundation and CTIA.
