Small businesses in India embracing artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies could unlock annual productivity gains of up to ₹1.6 trillion and support 45.9 million jobs by 2030, according to a report by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Accenture. These jobs are expected to be created in sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture, accounting for 9% of total jobs in India. Currently, India's basic cloud adoption rate is at 28%. The report emphasizes that advanced cloud-enabled technologies can accelerate digital transformation and support remote healthcare consultations, improved access to education, and precision agriculture, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. In agriculture, small businesses could unlock ₹1.1 trillion in annual productivity benefits, while healthcare and education sectors could benefit greatly from cloud-enabled solutions.
