French antitrust regulators have imposed a €150 million ($162.4 million) fine on Apple for exploiting its market position through its App Tracking Transparency (ATT) tool. The French Competition Authority ruled that while ATT's privacy objectives were valid, its implementation unfairly disadvantaged smaller publishers and advertisers. The penalty marks the first antitrust action against Apple's ATT feature, which allows iOS users to control app tracking permissions. Competition chief Benoit Coeure emphasized the decision's apolitical nature, though Apple expressed disappointment and awaits similar investigations in other European countries.
