Amazon employees at seven locations in New York, Georgia, California, and Illinois went on strike to advocate for improved benefits, excellent pay, and safer working conditions. Teamsters union members organized the walkout to pressure Amazon into engaging in negotiations and prevent interruptions during the busiest time of year for holiday shopping. Previously, the union had given Amazon until Sunday to agree to contract negotiations.
