In addition to growing its pool of gig workers, Uber is establishing a new category called AI annotation and data tagging. For Scaled Solutions, a new AI and data labeling division, the ride-hailing giant has begun employing contractors. According to Bloomberg, these employees finish projects for Uber's internal business units while working for external clients, including video game maker Niantic and self-driving car startup Aurora Innovation.
