Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing and AI arm of Alibaba Group Holding, is working with Chinese state media to live stream the country’s most-watched event of the year, amid increasing demand from traditional media to adopt advanced technologies in their content. The TV show, which airs on January 28, has been a Lunar New Year’s Eve tradition for millions of Chinese families since it started in 1983. In 2018, the gala attracted as many as 1 billion viewers.
